Waiting for a visa…

It has been 5 days now that I’m in Ventiane, waiting for my India visa to be processed. Relatively long delays here, and I won’t get into the details of the declarations and complements of information I had to hand-write and sign for my application to be acceptable. Never any hurries in Laos, in any case (it is commonplace to say Laos PDR stands for Laos – Please Don’t Rush). Ventiane has not much to offer for sightseeing, and pedestrian walkways are not always present, which doesn’t make it « must ». I won’t say to much about Laos either, where I have seen Luang Prabang (which catched me for almost a week instead of the planned two days given the novelty) and Sayabouly only. The sympathy and openess of Lao people is to underline, though, as I met several students around the Phousy mountain, who will come chat with you as soon as you’re alone to practice their English – not a scam, here.
